Christian Facts Part 2

 Philippians 4:6-7

6) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be make known unto God.

7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Verse 6:

A. "Be care for nothing": The word "careful" here means "anxious" or "worried." So, Paul is urging believers not to be anxious or overly concerned about anything.

B. "But in every thing by prayer and supplication": Instead of worrying, Paul encourages Christians to pray about everything, asking God for help (supplication) and expressing gratitude (thanksgiving).

C. "Let you request be made known unto God": This means we should bring all our needs, worries, and desires to God in prayer, trusting that He will listen and respond according to His will.

Verse 7:

A. "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding": When we release our anxieties through prayer and trust in God, He gives us peace ----- His peace --- which transcends human comprehension. This peace is not based on circumstance but on God's presence and sovereignty.

B. "Shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus": God's peace will guard and protect your emotions (hearts) and thoughts (minds), keeping you grounded and secure in Christ.

The Big Picture:

Paul is encouraging believers to let go of anxiety and instead approach God with their concerns through prayer, always with gratitude. In return, God promises to give peace that surpasses all human understanding, helping believer remain calm and steady, no matter the challenges they face. This peace is rooted in Christ's love and work for us.
