A Godly Woman: Building and Supporting in Christ #6

 Good morning, we are just going to get right into it. Today we are learning about: The Godly Sister

Romans 12:10

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

In Christ, we are all sisters, united by the love of God. A godly sister encourages and uplifts her siblings, walking beside them in love and support. This verse emphasizes showing love and honor to one another, putting the needs of others before our own.

1. How can you be a better sister in Christ, both to your biological siblings and to those in your church community?

    Staying rooted in the Word and living according to God's will is key. By being an example of a godly woman, you not only grow in your faith but also become a beacon of encouragement for others. It's also important to be intentional in showing love through acts of service, whether it's through words of encouragement, offering help, or simply being present when others need it.

2. What does it mean to prefer others above yourself in practical terms?

    Loving and praying for others and putting their needs ahead of our own requires a humble heart. It could also mean making sacrifices, like taking time to listen, offering a helping hand, or just showing up for someone in need. It's a daily choice to choose others over self, no matter the situation. That's true Christlike love in action.

3. How can I pray for my sisters in Christ, both near and far?

    Praying for their salvation and walk in Christ is foundational! Being specific in your prayers for their needs, families, and circumstances is a powerful way to intercede for them. Remembering them in both big and small things make such a difference. Even a simple prayer of protection, strength, or peace can have a lasting impact.

This study is of super importance. The impact of being a godly woman extends far beyond our own personal walk with Christ. By encouraging, praying for, and loving one another, we not only strengthen our faith but also set a powerful example for the next generation. Even without biological daughters, my role as a godly woman—through prayer, love, and encouragement—teaches them what it looks like to follow Christ. They see the beauty of living according to God’s will and the importance of loving others selflessly. By doing this you're planting seeds in their hearts, whether they realize it now or not. It’s such a blessing to be able to guide and support them in that way!

Your example will ripple out, shaping not just their understanding of God but also the way they live and interact with others in the future. You’re creating an environment of faith and love that will continue to influence generations to come.

It will be encouraging to see how you’re living out the calling to be a godly woman, regardless of the specifics of biological relationships.
