Biblical Relationships: Understanding God's Design for Relationships Day #1

Good morning, our main focus today is going to be an Introduction to the Biblical Foundation of Relationships.

Genesis 2:18:

And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12:

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone for he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Let's look at the term "help meet." This term can be a bit confusing in modern English. The term "help meet" in Genesis 2:18 refers to the role of a woman created to be a suitable helper or companion to man. It's not about subordination (which means being controlled or treated as less important), but about partnership and mutual support (as mentioned in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) in fulfilling God's purpose for humanity.

Relationships are essential to our lives. God designed us for connection, as seen in the creation of Eve for Adam. Whether in friendship, family, or romantic relationships, we are not meant to be isolated. We are designed to walk through life together, supporting one another in unity. Relationships face challenges still today because the devil seeks to distort God's design. God gives us the choice to follow His plan, which brings clarity, freedom, and rewards, or to follow the world, which brings confusion, bondage, and consequences. Men are designed to lead and women to be a help meet, each playing an essential role in God's plan.

Really think on this, and like always if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
