Good morning everyone, I am super excited to announce my new Series Journey: Nothing New Under the Sun.
My focus for this journey is to expose the lie that "things are different now" or "the Bible doesn't address this." My prayer is that this journey will be bold, insightful, and honest.
Ecclesiastes 1:9(KJV) says: "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
When we look at the world today - broken relationships, confusion, fear, pride, division - it can feel like everything is falling apart. People often say, "We've never seen times like these." But the TRUTH is, Scripture shows us these are not new problems. They're just old struggles wrapped in modern packaging.
Solomon said it best "There is no new thing under the sun." The same spiritual battles we see today have existed since the beginning. The good news is this: God saw it all coming-and He already gave us the answers.
So, What's Going on Today.... Has Happened Before
We're seeing cycles:
💔Rebellion against God
💔The redefinition of truth
💔People chasing their own desires
💔A lack of love and natural affection
And yet, from Genesis to Revelation, God consistently calls His people to return, repent, and be restored. This season we're living in is not a surprise to Him. In fact, He has prepared us through His Word.
2 Timothy 3:1-7 (KJV) says: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
Sound familiar? The Bible is not out of date - it's right on time.
A personal reflection:
Can I be honest?
Even as a born-again child of God, I've found myself sometimes looking to the world for answers. It's easy to do-especially when you're overwhelmed, busy, tired, or desperate for a quick fix. Satan knows how to keep our minds full of noise we forget the only thing that brings peace: God's Word.
I rely on the Word of God, and I strive to stay rooted in it. But sometimes, in the midst of life's chaos, I forget to turn there first. Not because I don't believe-but because I get distracted, discouraged, or just tired. And when I allow that to happen, the enemy tries to slip in with doubt, fear, or a quick-fix answer that never last and has more consequences attached.
It's a problem many believers face, but we rarely talk about it. We need to learn to put our full trust in God's truth, even when it's hard-especially when it's hard. We are not perfect, but it's about growing and learning. It's about recognizing when we've drifted and choosing to return to the anchor of our souls-Jesus Christ and His unchanging Word.
Proverbs 3:5-6(KJV) says: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Throughout this journey I challenge you to reflect and ask yourself some tough questions.
For this introduction Ask Yourself:
❤Have I been looking to the world for answers instead of the Word?
❤Am I allowing culture or pressure to shape how I live and love?
❤What areas of my life need to be brought back under the authority of Scripture?
Don't be discouraged by what you see.
The world may feel unstable, but the Word is unshakable. You may feel overwhelmed, but God is not surprised. There truly is nothing new under the sun-but there is something eternal in the Son.
Return to the Word. Rebuild your Faith. And remember Hebrews 13:8(KJV) says "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Lord,
Help us to remember Your Word in every season. When life gets loud, bring Your truth to the front of our minds. Keep me rooted in You and remind me that You've already seen it all - and You are still in control. In Jesus' name we pray
Amen.
